Tobacco Virginia Bright Italia (VBI)

These lines have been generated in 1967 by Prof. Dr. Zdenek Opatrný in Prague. This is the line VBI-0. The other lines are clonal derivatives that are auxin independent. Line VBI-3 is also light sensitive and can induce chloroplast formation. Line VBI-4 is a transgenic line expressing the auxin transporter AtPin1 in fusion with GFP.
